We meet the participants of the first stage of the Snowboard World Cup

This weekend, December 7 and 8, snowboarders of the national teams of the whole world will gather in the ski resort of Bannoe to start the World Cup in snowboarding in disciplines parallel to slalom and parallel to slalom giant. Today the first competitors arrived in Magnitogorsk.

Early in the morning, an airplane landed at Magnitogorsk airport with 45 athletes from the national teams of Poland, Bulgaria, Austria, Italy, Slovenia and France. Also, together with the participants in the competition, members of the International Ski Federation arrived in the city of metallurgists.

“It's always cooler in Russia than in Europe,” says Uwe Bayer, director of the World Snowboard Championship. - This is good for us, especially if we are talking about the beginning of the season. In Europe, the beginning of December is a very risky period when the weather can fail; in Russia, in this regard, everything is very reliable. In addition, your ski resort is very well designed. We like the slope of the track, its length and finish town. "

According to the director, such large-scale tournaments are held exactly in those places where in the future it is planned to continue to develop this sport. Therefore, Magnitogorsk has every chance of getting the right to hold such competitions on an ongoing basis.

All athletes landed at the airport with snowboard boots in their hands. According to them, this part of sports uniforms is the most important and cannot be lost or left unattended.

“It’s cool with you, but I look forward to when we will go to your mountain and will be able to ride,” the athlete of the French team. “For me now, the main thing is to assess my abilities with respect to other athletes and build my tactics.”

Also, within the framework of the Snowboard World Cup, which will be held on December 7 and 8 on the territory of the Metallurg-Magnitogorsk GLC, everyone, together with snowboarders, will be able to take part in the project “Kilometers of Good”, which combines charity, love of sport and a healthy lifestyle.

On December 6, at 5 p.m., guests and competitors will be able to go to a special track in the Yubileiny sanatorium. To do this, you will need to deposit funds in the payment terminal, the minimum amount of which is 200 rubles. Then exchange the received check for a badge that will read the distance traveled.

After passing the distance, you can see your results on the official website of the project, as well as find out to whom the funds were sent.

The stellar line-up of the participants promises spectacular starts, a lot of struggle and an unforgettable experience for the fans. For them, in addition to the competitions themselves, the organizers have prepared an extensive cultural and entertainment program - performances by artists, creative, folk groups, gift giving from sponsors, a craft fair and much more. A Russian and Bashkir house will be opened in a specially designated area, which will delight guests with national color, and a photo zone will also be organized.

The program starts already on Friday, December 6, at 18 o’clock in the Yubileiny sanatorium, with Christmas meetings at Banny. Within its framework, a public drawing of athletes will take place, as well as a hot ice disco with the participation of the Ural Band dancing orchestra, show ballet, and dancing talismans.
