Another indoor ice rink will appear in the city
The construction of a new ice rink behind the Arena Metallurg Sports Palace began in late August.
Magnitogorsk is actively gaining momentum in its development. The new status of the second capital of the Southern Urals obliges the city to grow not only in political, but also in social areas. One of them is the development of sports in the Chelyabinsk region. It is worth noting that the head of the region, Alexei Texler, actively advocates the development of children's sports. Therefore, the construction of a new closed ice rink is financed from the federal budget.
“The new Canadian-format venue, 56 by 26 meters in size, will primarily increase the number of children who want to play hockey, because now we cannot offer so many places,” notes Kirill Krepkogorsky, Executive Director of Metallurg Holding Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization. “At the moment, about 600 children are engaged in the arena, with the introduction of a new skating rink, the number of young athletes is planned to be increased to 1,000.”
Also, a new ice field will allow holding events at the Arena Metallurg Sports Palace without interrupting the training of the main team.
The skating rink itself is planned to be made very compact, but effective: it will have five locker rooms, a small gym and a room for parents who can watch the children's workouts. There will be a distance of about 20 meters between the main arena and the new training rink, until the project provides for a warm transition.
“The contract was concluded at the end of August, the customer is the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure of the Chelyabinsk Region,” says Dmitry Melnikov, director of Trest Magnitostroy LLC. - Now there are earthworks and work on driving a pile field. Toward the end of the year, we plan to erect the frame of the building. And the deadline for the completion of the entire facility is October 31, 2020.
Trest Magnitostroy LLC, which in the new project acts as a general contractor, already has experience in the construction of such facilities. For five and a half months they built an indoor ice rink "Umka".
The use of modern technologies in construction will ensure high quality at minimal cost. New installations will radically differ from those that operate on the Umka ice platform.
