Caring for the older generation
As part of the implementation of the national project "Demography" in Magnitogorsk, social and medical services for veterans and the disabled are provided in three integrated social service centers.
High-quality and timely implementation of national projects in the Chelyabinsk region is a priority. Such a goal is set by the head of the region, Aleksey Teksler.
In Magnitogorsk, social taxis are provided free of charge to veterans and people with disabilities to receive counseling and treatment in clinics and hospitals. In 2019, it received 64 clients of the institution.
To assist and support patients with cancer and other serious illnesses, a Hospice at Home was organized at the base of the Department of Social and Medical Services of the Municipal Institution “Comprehensive Social Services Center” of the Leninsky District.
The main goal of the Hospice is to provide qualified integrated social and medical care to citizens in the terminal stage of any chronic disease (oncology, multiple sclerosis, chronic nonspecific diseases of the bronchopulmonary and cardiovascular systems and others). Since its inception, the service has been provided to 12 patients of the department.
In 2019, the institution received a grant in the amount of 130 thousand rubles for the implementation of the social project Hospice at Home.
To strengthen the health of the active representatives of the older generation, more than a thousand retirees attend social tourism clubs, gyms, and learn Scandinavian walking on the basis of integrated social service centers. So, on September 5, 2018, at the initiative of the City Council of Veterans, with the support of the administration of the city of Magnitogorsk, a club of Nordic walkers was opened, which today unites more than 200 people. Classes are held at three sites: at the monument to theFront - in the Ecological Park for pensioners living in remote areas of the city - in the village of Novosavinka.
Mobile social services are actively developing in social service institutions, providing services to more than 700 citizens for the year. The “Schools of Rehabilitation and Nursing” work successfully, where more than 180 people receive help per year. There are rental centers for technical means of rehabilitation for persons with disabilities, which provide technical equipment for rehabilitation to more than 130 people with disabilities free of charge for temporary use.
As part of the activities of the daytime departments, there are animation events, dance therapy, concerts, including video concerts, as well as theme nights, quizzes, excursions and other leisure activities. Offices are visited by 1,050 pensioners.
Medical institutions of the city of Magnitogorsk held annual medical examination of participants and disabled war, which ends on the eve of Victory Day celebrations.
Medical care of immobile participants and war invalids at home is carried out by mobile teams. For the diagnosis and treatment of veterans are sent to the Chelyabinsk Regional Clinical Therapeutic Hospital. Each hospital is assigned a separate doctor to manage this group of patients.
